We the People and the Federal Courts

This seminar, held in the courtrooms of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, will focus on how to integrate Supreme Court decisions into the We the People curriculum. Teachers will also participate in The Rule of Law, the Role of the Courts, and You in the Minority courtroom simulation with Chief Judge Royce C. Lamberth, who serves as United States District Judge for the District of Columbia. 

 

Directions and Security:

 

Please plan to arrive at 9:30 a.m.  Enter the E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. District Courthouse through the 3rd Street entrance.  Pay close attention to these directions as there are multiple doors to enter the building.  If you have any issues on the day of the event, please call me on my cell phone at 703-244-6396.  Finally, cell phones will not be permitted in the courtrooms.  However, I have permission to carry my phone.  If you need to leave a contact number with your school and/or family, you may give them my number.  You may bring your phones with you, but you will have to leave the phones with security.
